Highlights from the fourth and final Test between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Thursday show that after choosing to bat, Australia scored 255/4 in 90 overs. Usman Khawaja crushed an undefeated effort of 104 runs off 251 balls, studded with 15 fours, to hit a magnificent century. The Australian opener was at the top of his game and will bat again on Day 2 alongside Cameron Green (49*). Khawaja and Travis Head shown good intent as Australia got off to a great start. Head helped his side get off to a promising start before being finally bowled for 32 runs off 44 balls by Ravichandran Ashwin. Marnus Labuschagne, batting third, struggled after Head was dismissed left for three off 20 balls, scoring poorly. After Labuschagne, Smith and Khawaja partnered well, scoring 38 runs off 135 balls before Smith was dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja. Peter Handscomb, who was batting at position number five, appeared to be in control, but a peach of a delivery from Mohammed Shami saw him leave the field for 17 off 27 balls, and the pacer also claimed his second wicket of the day. After Handscomb, all-rounder Cameron Green helped Australia regain its composure by forming a strong combination with opener Usman Khawaja that enabled the latter to reach his century. If India wins, they will join Australia in the World Test Championship finals, which are slated for later this year. The game is crucial to the World Test Championship Even a loss won't ruin India's prospects of qualifying, but much will rely on the result of the Test series between Sri Lanka and New Zealand, which also begins on Thursday. Australia, on the other side, will want to maintain its winning streak and wrap out the series evenly. In the four-match series, the visitors presently have a 1-2 deficit.
